Back for another Five Links Friday.
I'm going with a theme this week. All five links are to articles or resources to help new writers recognize writing scams and frauds.
1. Writer Beware is a great resource sponsored by the SFWA keeping up-to-date info on writing scams and schemes.
2. Writer Beware Blogs! is a sort of supplemental blog for the Writer Beware site. Their tag: "Shining a bright light into the dark corners of the shadow-world of literary scams, schemes, and pitfalls." It's a must-read for any new writer.
3. From Anne R. Allen's Blog, here are Seven Deadly Writing Scams to look out for.
4. Alexandria Ingham gives us 3 Ways People Fall For Freelance Writing Scams.
5. And here is another from Anne R. Allen, showing us How to Spot A Bogus Literary Agent.
So this should be all you need to know as a new writer when it comes to protecting your work and avoiding the some of the scum out there that may be trying to rip you off.
